The Challenge

• The Tech Partnership was seeking to develop an online learning portal for talented young people interested in technology careers.

• They wanted equip young people with the technology skills required for the future.

What we did

• We deployed, designed and configured a Totara LMS to host engaging learning content, and built a badge academy to recognise learning credits.

• Badges were sponsored by various high profile employers, and could be earned automatically or via grading by the students teacher at School.

• Every school in the country was uploaded to the LMS as an “organisation” meaning individual Schools have customised reporting. Teachers were set up as ‘managers’ so they could track progress and mark assignments.

• We also customised the signup process, and enabled social media logins, to simply joining and capture data on learners.

• We designed the course pages to have a “completion wheel” to readily show progress, which has been pulled through to the learner’s Dashboard. Course pages also had our “slider grid” plugin which means there is no need for the client to learn HTML coding to make a page look beautiful.

The results

• The site had over 3,000 learners and 10,000 schools uploaded.

• Feedback on the site was exceptional, delivered cost savings and extended the reach of learning.

• The portal was a key pillar in their strategy to equip young people with the technology skills required for the future.
