11 Feb National Apprenticeship Week: Spotlight on Christian at GSG

As part of National Apprenticeship Week 2022, Accipio are looking to highlight some of those people who have greatly benefited from an Apprenticeship Programme. Christian McBride, Founder and CEO of Genuine Solutions, has the rewarding role of leading the business and the team on a mission to save planet earth. The team make it happen with the leadership of the board and Senior Leadership Team – however, a fundamental part of his responsibility is to strategically develop the business so that it is sustainable and market-leading.

Christian had this to say about how the Senior Leader apprenticeship has developed his knowledge, skills and behaviours, while completing the CMI level 7 Strategic Diploma in Leadership and Management.

“When I set the business up just over 17 years ago, I had no formal qualifications in business, nor did I have any experience of qualifications in management and leadership and when I was offered the opportunity to undertake an apprenticeship I was intrigued and decided to take the plunge and I am glad that I did.I have learnt a great deal throughout the last year and have benefited greatly from the education, support and advice that I have received from my assessor, coach and wider cohort at Accipio.

Whilst after 17 years in business, I have in some cases proved the theory, by now understanding the theory I am able to apply myself much more effectively and as a result have much more of an efficient and effective impact. The apprenticeship and qualification cover many subjects and all of which are relevant as a leader.”

Alongside this, there are a number of other colleagues that are undertaking apprenticeships and it is clear from both their performance and general outlooks that the impact is tangible. The team have developed skills in managing their teams more effectively, developed skills to undertake projects more effectively and a range of other skills that enable them to be more productive in their roles. The investment we have made will pay dividends and we are big advocates of the apprenticeship scheme and cannot speak more highly of our provider Accipio.” – #jointheclub
